Ben Affleck to Don Dark Knight Cowl for 'Man of Steel' Sequel

Ben Affleck, the actor who resurrected his flailing career with a string of critically hailed directorial efforts, is your new Batman.

Affleck will play the Caped Crusader in the next installment of the Man of Steel franchise. Henry Cavill’s sober Superman helped make Steel one of this summer’s biggest hits, and Warner Bros. quickly announced the sequel would feature fellow DC Comics star Batman.

Christian Bale, who played Batman in director Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, repeatedly said he was done with the character.

Now, it’s Affleck’s turn.

The untitled Man of Steel sequel is expected to be released in July 2015.
