Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) will host a fundraiser in Hollywood Thursday evening, Breitbart News has learned exclusively.
Rubio’s Beverly Hills Hotel fundraiser comes just a day after meeting with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. According to a copy of the invitation obtained by Breitbart News, the general reception of the fundraiser begins at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Boulevard at 5:30 PM Thursday. The dinner begins at 7 PM.
It costs “General Reception” attendees $2,600 to see Rubio, and to co-host the dinner costs $10,000. The copy of the invitation obtained by Breitbart News shows that the hosts of the event thus far include: Josh Friedman, Brad Jones, Sue and Howard Groff, Dee and Andy Puzder, Allison and Richard Roeder, Eva and Marc Stern, and Esther and Tom Wachtell.
Friedman is a hedge fund proprietor, leading Canyon Capital Advisers, and has donated significantly to several GOP establishment figures like House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) and Mitt Romney. He has also cut a $2,400 check to Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR).
Sue Groff, a contractor, and her husband Howard Groff, were early donors to Mitt Romney in the last election cycle, helping him raise money which gave him an edge over his conservative challengers in the GOP primary. They donated about $350,000 to Romney’s Super PAC before the primaries began in earnest, according to an early 2012 article from the Los Angeles Times.
Dee and Andy Puzder are prominent donors in California politics, having helped frontload Carly Fiorina’s 2010 Senate bid. However, they are not exclusively GOP donors; on his blog in May 2012, Andy Puzder boasted of hosting Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) at his home for a fundraiser, posting a picture of him with the Democrat leader. Puzder said in that blog post that Feinstein was “one of the most important and independent voices in Congress,” and that “[e]veryone who attended [the fundraiser at his house] was impressed with her stateswoman qualities and experience.”
Richard Roeder, a venture capitalist, according to Federal Election Commission political donation data compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics, is a GOP establishment donor who has given thousands of dollars to lawmakers like Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), House Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH), and the 2010 Senate reelection bid of Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), among others.
Marc Stern has similarly donated significantly to politicians like Cantor, McCain, Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV), Boehner, House Majority Whip Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and even cut a $2,400 check to Democratic Sen. Feinstein.
Tom Wachtell, similarly, donated thousands to GOP establishment candidates like Romney, McCain, Sen. John Thune (R-SD), and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell over the years.
The Rubio Victory Committee, an official campaign arm for the senator, is organizing the Hollywood fundraiser.
