First Lady Michelle Obama isn’t known for her singing, but her friendship with Beyonce has her traveling in lofty music circles.
She’ll use some of that clout when she releases a new album next month tied to her fight against obesity.
Entitled Songs for a Healthier America, the album will promote the First Lady’s “Let’s Move!” campaign, which works to combat obesity within children. Obama teamed up with Partnership for a Healthier America and Hip Hop Public Health for the 19-track album and although she will not be found singing or rapping on it, the record will feature big names like Jordin Sparks, Ashanti, Run DMC, Doug E. Fresh and Monifah.
Ten music videos will also be released following the album. The videos are set to be distributed to 40 schools in the New York City area before being circulated to other major cities.
The album, which apparently does not feature the famous Mrs. Carter nor the First Lady’s dulcet tones, is set to drop Sept. 30.
