Filmmaker Phelim McAleer did some digging into Spike Lee’s new Kickstarter.com campaign and found its donations weren’t as populist as Lee’s might have hoped.
Turns out the bulk of donors are well-heeled types, and that only a small portion of the money raised so far has come from people of modest means.
That’s McAleer’s M.O.–asking tough questions of celebrities, digging into stories the press would rather avoid and challenging the status quo in a respectful fashion.
For that simple sleuthing the Do the Right Thing director did the wrong thing–he blocked McAleer on Twitter.
