Jennifer Aniston Mocks Katie Couric: 'Is She a Legitimate Journalist?'

Jennifer Aniston mocked former Today show host and CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric this week for becoming “tabloidy.”

Appearing Wednesday on Chelsea Lately on E!, Aniston was informed by Handler, a close friend of hers, that Couric had recently asked Handler about Aniston’s wedding. Handler said she had to “act like I didn’t even know you were engaged because I didn’t know that was out.”

“Then she was like, ‘Well, everyone knows about it!’ So, I felt really stupid,” Handler said. 

In response, Aniston said, “What’s Katie Couric? Is she a legitimate journalist? Is she getting tabloidy? Wasn’t she on the ‘Today’ show?”

“She was on the ‘Today’ show,” quipped Handler, according to Variety. “She got a demotion to her own show.”
