Flavor Flav's Chicken & Ribs Closes Down in Detroit Area

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., July 26 (UPI)–Flavor Flav’s Chicken & Ribs eatery in a Detroit suburb has closed after only eight months of operation, with the company saying relocation plans are under way.

The Sterling Heights restaurant, owned by Public Enemy musician Flavor Flav — real name, William Drayton — and business partner Gino Harmon of Forza Development, shut down this week after opening eight months ago with a mission to bring Flavor Flav’s “passion for bold and innovative fare straight to the heart of Metro-Detroit,” The Detroit News reported Friday.

TMZ reported last month the restaurant had not paid its rent since opening and was facing eviction.

A post on the restaurant’s Facebook page said the owners plan to reopen in a new location.

“No worries we are relocating!!! Stay tuned for our official announcement later this evening,” the post read Wednesday.

The only other post that day read, “DETROITTTTTTT WHERE YOU AT?????”
