Roger Waters Accused of Using Anti-Semitic Imagery in Concert … Again

Singer Roger Waters is no friend of Israel. While some musicians share his distaste for the country’s policies regarding Palestinians, Waters takes his enmity to a new level in concert.

Waters, the co-founder of Pink Floyd, used some incendiary props during his July 20 concert in Belgium.

Toward its end, a black balloon in the shape of a wild pig was released to the sky, on it a Star of David, in the company of symbols of dictatorial organizations and regimes from around the world…Next to the Star of David, on the wild pig balloon, there was also a sign of oil conglomerate Shell, and a graffiti message stating, “Everything will be okay, just keep consuming,” and “What’s wrong with people?

It isn’t the first time Waters has been accused of displaying anti-semitic images in his live act. In 2010, Waters combined visuals representing both Israel and money during his tour.

During Waters’ recent performances of “Goodbye Blue Sky,” an animated scene has projected images of planes dropping bombs in the shape of Jewish stars of David, followed by dollar signs — an “outrageous” juxtaposition, according to Abraham Foxman, ADL’s national director.
