Barack Obama is a busy man, but he manages to find time to text high-powered rapper and businessman Jay Z. Jay-Z told the radio station Hot97, “I’ve spoken to him on the phone and had texts from Obama. Of course. He’s a regular guy as well. He’s very heavy into sports so a lot of his analogies end up in sports.”
Jay-Z revealed that during the 2012 presidential campaign, Obama boasted to him that he would win the election. Jay-Z said, “I don’t know if this is breaching national security but when he was getting elected the second time, he was like, ‘Hey, you know, fourth quarter, just give me the ball.’ I said, ‘word.’ ”
The two wives of these mutual admirers also lavish fulsome praise on each other; Beyonce, Jay-Z’s wife. Appeared in a campaign video reading her letter praising Michelle Obama, and Michelle has opined that if she were able, she love to change places with Beyonce for a day.
Jay-Z and Beyonce held a $4 million fundraiser for Obama last September.
