Singer Lady Gaga used this week’s Supreme Court decision to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act as an excuse to tweak The Star-Spangled Banner.
The pop star was on hand to kick off a gay pride celebration at New York’s Pier 26 when she offered up her own rendition of the patriotic song:
Holding a rainbow flag, the performer sang, “O say does that star-spangled flag of pride yet wave,” then substituted “land of the free, and the home for the gay.”
