Director M. Night Shyamalan will be taking a break from receiving bad reviews when he releases a little book entitled, I Got Schooled: The Unlikely Story of How a Moonlighting Movie Maker Learned the Five Keys to Closing Americas Education Gap.
The book contains director Shyamalan breaking down steps that could help America’s education system, which most can agree is broken for one reason or another.
The synopsis says he was inspired when he was scouting Philadelphia schools for a movie shoot (presumably The Sixth Sense). It also says he has consulted “experts” for advice on the book.
Here’s hoping this isn’t just another celebrity egotistically preaching to the rest of America. Perhaps the book will come from the heart and have real merit. Let’s also hope it’s not as bland as After Earth. Read part of the synopsis:
Shyamalanembarked on this project with no preconceived notions, hoping only tolearn which methods succeed. Working closely with experts, he hasproduced a book based solely on empirical data–a guide that shouldinform America’s ongoing debate about how to improve our educationalsystem.
I Got Schooled hits shelves on September 10th.
