Singer Adam Levine is no one’s idea of a conservative.
The musician and coach on the hit reality show The Voice despises Fox News and promised to “lose his shit” if President Barack Obama wasn’t re-elected last year.
Still, the current outrage over Levine’s hot mic comment on his reality show, simply put, isn’t justified.
During Tuesday night’s live telecast (video below), Levine was overheard saying “I hate this country” under his breath as viewers voted off two of his contestants — Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons — while electing to rescue country singer Amber Carrington.
Public outcries soon followed, forcing Levine to use his Twitter page to explain he was merely joking. It’s understandable why he’d attempt some social media damage control, but he shouldn’t have to explain such an obviously flip comment.
