Those packed early screenings of the documentary Hating Breitbart in L.A., Atlanta and San Jose clearly had an impact on the film’s theatrical rollout.
The documentary, an award-winning account of late media pioneer Andrew Breitbart’s war with the mainstream media, will now be seen in 15 theaters, not 10, starting May 17.
“We are thrilled at the reception of the film,” Hating Breitbart director Andrew Marcus said in a statement. “Just like the revolution sparked by Andrew Breitbart himself, the film is becoming a grassroots movement.”
The following theaters now plan to show Hating Breitbart on May 17, the same date the film becomes available on both DVD and video on demand services nationwide.

Marcus will have his hands full next week beyond his new movie’s release schedule. The director has agreed to debate ACORN founder and talk radio personality Wade Rathke at 10 a.m. May 17, an exchange which can be streamed live at Rathke’s radio home.
