The woman unceremoniously dubbed Hanoi Jane for her exploits during the Vietnam War isn’t in an apologetic mood regarding her latest movie role.
The avowed liberal, who outraged many by visiting the Viet Cong, posing with soldiers and denouning the U.S. on their country’s radio broadcasts, has apologized several times for those posed snapshots. What Fonda won’t do is extend an olive branch to conservatives for being upset with her playing Nancy Reagan in the upcoming film The Butler.
Here’s her message to Larry Reyes, a Navy veteran and founder of the “Boycott Hanoi Jane Playing Nancy Reagan” page and, ostensibly, any conservative bitter about the casting choice.

Fonda contends she actually softened the film’s portrayal of Nancy Reagan, although audiences will see for themselves when the film hits theaters in October.
