Folk rocker Michelle Shocked gave a crash course in mid-set meltdowns Sunday night.
The singer, best known for songs like Anchorage and If Love Was a Train, launched into a blistering attack on gay marriage during a concert at Yoshi’s in San Francisco.
Shocked, who supports Occupy Wall Street and is a born again Christian, warned about priests being forced at gunpoint to officiate gay weddings, and that such unions would lead to the end of civilization.
And, as if anyone missed her message, she summarized it using terminology often employed by the hated Westboro Baptist Church.
“You can go on Twitter and say ‘Michelle Shocked says God hates fags.'”
The venue soon ended the show after the outburst, and now the folks behind Shocked’s May 5 concert in Evanston, IL are canceling her appearance.
Update: More cancellations pile up for Shocked’s current tour.
