Code Pink got Punk’d.
The radical anti-war group tried trumpeting a letter from The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart saying the comic supported the group’s anti-drone campaign.
Comedy Central had the unenviable task of telling them the letter is phony. To be fair, when you read part of the letter it’s easy to see how the group was bamboozled.
“[Code Pink co-founder] Medea Benjamin asked me to join her in demanding that Congress do something,” it read. “Naturally, I said no. I’m a comedian, not an activist. But then she said I could have one of the giant vaginas she sometimes wears and I said ‘absolutely.’ As a virile man, I’d do anything for a vagina.”
