Russell Simmons Calls for Unarmed Mediators in Schools

When the NRA called for armed guards to be stationed at schools nationwide in the wake of the massacre in a Connecticut school late last year, the media and liberals alike erupted in laughter. It’s too expensive, they cried.

They hardly cared that some communities favor such an effort.

Now, uber-leftist Russell Simmons is calling for nonviolent mediators to be hired for schools across the country.

Simmons summoned the press today to share his views on ways to curb horrible shooting incidents like the one that struck Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Simmons asked for funding for nonprofit organizations like Life Camp, Man Up and I Love My Life that promote peace through unarmed patrol officers and offer counseling to emotionally troubled people….

“We have the peacekeepers in 25 cities and they’re just getting started but they need funding as well. We have to fund these programs. All of our underserved communities are at risk and that means you’re at risk.”
