The Breitbart News Network routinely illustrates how liberals used Hollywood product to slight the Right and applaud progressive ideals.
No need to list examples. Just peruse virtually any page at Big Hollywood and you’ll find more than enough evidence.
So it’s ironic to hear far-left actress Janeane Garofalo, who never met a Tea Party member she wouldn’t gleefully dub racist, complain that the Fox series “24” used her character to trash the Left. She placed particular emphasis on show creator Joel Surnow, one of the rare outspoken conservatives in Hollywood.
“He actually worked with the Republican Party producing, like, propaganda campaigns with them. And, actually, Rush Limbaugh and Lynne Cheney would visit the set, and stuff like that. He wanted Cherry Jones to play the president that season as a slam to Hillary. He wanted it to seem unappealing. Unfortunately, the fans loved Cherry Jones as the president — she was wonderful — but it was made to frighten you from Hillary. This might sound all like, ‘that’s crazy,’ but don’t underestimate a right-winger, especially with power and money. They will use any platform.”
Surnow responded with class, not venom, though one wouldn’t blame him for skipping her name the next time he’s casting a TV series or film project.
“I hired Janeane Garofolo on 24 not because of any political agenda. I had none. I hired her because she’s an extremely talented actress who I liked in everything I had ever seen her in.”
