This February’s Grammy Awards presentation will have a decidedly left-leaning component.
First lady Michelle Obama and former President Clinton will be competing for music’s top prize next year — both have been nominated for a Grammy in the spoken-word-album category.
The first lady is nominated for her first book, “American Grown,” and Clinton for his fourth, “Back To Work: Why We Need Smart Government for a Strong Economy.”
Other nominees are MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow for “Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power” and singer Janis Ian for “Society’s Child: My Autobiography.”
Of course, the political inclination of the nominees had absolutely nothing to do with their selection, and we’re just as sure entries by right-of-center authors just missed the cut.
