Producer Harvey Weinstein has done virtually all he can to push President Obama to victory tonight, from serving as a bundler to unleashing anti-Tea Party movies like “Butter” on the public. Weinstein even scooped up the rights to a film depicting the raid that killed Osama bin Laden – Obama’s finest hour- and then debuted it on television two days before Election Day.
The only thing Weinstein hasn’t done is produce a hastily edited video attacking Mitt Romney as … wait for it … a flip flopper.
Better late than never, right?
The clip is a mashup of Romney sound bites, the kind of partisan editing usually seen on “The Daily Show.” It’s narrated blandly by Bradley Cooper, the star of Weinstein’s Oscar bait fall release “Silver Linings Playbook.”
Frankly, the video feels like a last-ditch attempt to sway a few undecided folks. Say what you will about Weinstein’s partisan maneuvering. He usually presents far more attractive content than what’s seen here.
