One Percenter Jimmy Buffett Sings for Team Obama

Singer Jimmy Buffett is putting his happy go lucky beach bum persona to the test.

The fabulously wealthy singer behind hits like “Cheeseburger in Paradise” will be crooning for cash on behalf of President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign next month.

[Democratic fundraiser John] Morgan is inviting people to a private, 5 p.m. fundraising party at his Lake Mary mansion on Oct. 12 featuring “A Musical Evening with Jimmy Buffett.”

Price of tickets starts at $500 just for the concert; $1,000 for VIP seating; and $5,000 for a meet-and-greet opportunity with the Florida Keys balladeer, Cheeseburger in Paradise rocker and long-time Democratic supporter….

Proceeds will be split up between the Obama For America committee, the Democratic National Committee, and state Democratic committees in Florida, Ohio and several other “swing states.”
