Beyonce Knowles is the latest in a long line of celebrities sending fundraising e-mails on behalf of President Barack Obama’s campaign.

Once more, the missives combine cheesiness and creepiness along with some fake intimacy.

Obama cannot make time to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New York, but he can make a trip New York City next Tuesday for a $40,000-a-plate fundraiser at Jay-Z’s 40/40 club, hosted by the rapper and his wife, Beyonce.

And if you’re lucky, so can you — if you donate to the Obama campaign.

“I usually don’t email you — but I have an amazing invitation I have to share,” Beyonce writes in an e-mail to Obama supporters.

“Jay and I will be meeting up with President Obama for an evening in NYC sometime soon. And we want you to be there!”

Those who donate to the campaign will be entered to attend the fundraiser.

“Don’t worry about the airfare and hotel, it’s taken care of. And you can bring a guest,” Beyonce writes. “But the countdown is on — this opportunity ends at midnight …”

Beyonce signs off on the e-mail by writing:

Can’t wait to meet you!

Love,

B

Obama often demonizes wealthy Republicans and accuses them of stealing elections. He also has called for a constitutional amendment to restrict political speech by overturning the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision. Obama may rail against the so-called one percent, but he is more than willing to hobnob with one-percent celebrities like Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Wintour previously sent out similar email pitches that attempted to sound normal but ended up exploiting the cult of celebrity.
