Comedian Chris Rock is a whiz at making up metaphors to explain away President Barack Obama’s atrocious record.
Rock, one of the president’s premier Palace Guard comics, has a history of defending the president against cold, hard truths. That is, when he’s not joining with James Earl Jones and Janeane Garofalo in calling the Tea Party racist without proof.
Rock talked to Details magazine about how he could dial up the president any time he wished, and why Obama is facing such a tough first term.
Details: Got any election-year thoughts for the real president?
Chris Rock: I mean, if I want to talk to him, I can call him. Dude, being the first black anything sucks. But the country was in shambles, and he’s cleaning it up. If you properly clean a room, it gets dirtier before it gets cleaner. Ever come back to your hotel room before the maids are finished? My God! Republicans are complaining. Romney’s complaining. But Romney’s rich. He doesn’t know shit about cleaning.
Rock, reading from the Obama-approved “it’s not my fault” script, ignores the fact that the president had Congress in his control for two whole years at the start of his term and still couldn’t turn the country’s economic ship around. He just made it worse.
There’s nothing funny about that, nor why a professional comedian ignores the sitting president when writing up material.
