This is what a fascist sounds like:
I don’t understand why anyone thinks a bunch of billionaires personally giving tens of millions of dollars to campaigns will benefit them.

it is not about Hollywood. It is about rich very old men having enough money to get the government to serve them and not you

That’s the problem with most fascists, they sound absurdly reasonable.
Yeah, well, so did Dr. No.
Mr. Apatow wants us to believe he’s….
…sickened by a bunch of billionaires personally giving tens of millions to campaigns that will benefit them.
Mr. Apatow also wants us to believe he’s outraged by…
…rich very old men having enough money to get the government to serve them and not you[.]
And yet he’s not.
He’s only outraged and sickened by “some” who do this, but most certainly not all.
Oh, sure, Apatow puts up a good front. Read his entire Twitter feed and you’ll see him posture against unions and claim he’d be just as outraged if it were Obama benefitting from all this free speech money in politics. And who knows, maybe in 2008, after Obama brazenly broke his promise to accept federal matching funds and then went on to outspend McCain 3 to 1, Apatow did launch a MySpace rant against The One.
But somehow I doubt that.
What I do know is that Apatow is a raging left-wing hypocrite using his fame to silence those he disagrees with for this very simple reason….
For decades now, some of the largest corporations in the world — corporations owned by very old, rich men, by the way — have annually spent billions upon billions of dollars to affect, influence, and determine the political outcome of our nation’s politics.
And these very same corporations owned by very old, rich men have made Judd Apatow filthy rich. Apatow not only accepts their filthy money; he also helps to make them even wealthier so they can spend even more money to affect our politics.
You see, through spending caps, Apatow would restrict your employer’s right to produce and broadcast ads to remove Obama from office.
What Apatow would never restrict, though, is Hollywood’s right to produce and broadcast 16 anti-war films designed to damage Bush, Comedy Central’s right to produce and broadcast Colbert and Stewart, NBC’s right to produce and broadcast “Saturday Night Live,” or HBO’s right to produce and broadcast Bill Maher.
And those are just a few examples.
Mitt Romney and the super PACs who support him might raise a billion dollars this year.
Hollywood, however, will likely spend ten times that producing and publicizing films, television shows, comics, music, and concerts to win the day for Obama.
This doesn’t even include the money those pro-Obama super PACs disguised as the mainstream media will spend.
So, according Judd Apatow, when it comes to unlimited free speech, that right only belongs to Hollywood — to him and to his.
Not to you, and not to me.
It is now your job not to be suckered into the idea that Apatow is “dumb” or “ignorant.”
Trust me, he knows exactly what he’s doing.
