New Media Victory: Author Apologizes for Comparing GOP to Hitler

Best-selling author Terry McMillan of “Waiting to Exhale” fame compared the GOP to Hitler via her Twitter account over the weekend.

The old media snoozed, even though had a conservative author made a similar comparison to the Democratic party it probably would have caused a tsunami of hand-wringing over “civility.”

Enter New Media. Everyday Americans expressed respectful outrage over the indefensible comments – not to mention the author’s spotty grammar.

Now, after being pummeled by citizen journalists on social media, McMillan has offered a tepid apology, according to Twitchy.com.

That didn’t happen right away. At first, McMillan dug in her heels, refusing to apologize in any way, shape or form. But Tweet after Tweet convinced her to change her mind.

Let the Mainstream Media keep right on ignoring stories that matter to the public. The New Media is here to pick up the enormous slack.
