HOLLYWOOD, May 19 (UPI) —

Colin Firth will play Noel Coward in “Mad Dogs and Englishmen,” the producers announced in Cannes, France.

The film centers on the real-life saga of the sophisticated British playwright-actor’s two-week run at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas in 1955.

The next step is to find a director for the film, which The Hollywood Reporter says has no release date.

The newspaper said “Mad Dogs” is being produced by BiteSize Entertainment, a newly launched company led by Gene Kirkwood, who oversaw “Rocky,” and Mevio CEO Ron Bloom.
