Silverman Compares Tea Party to Westboro Church

Sarah Silverman loves to shock, but lately it’s shocking how little she knows about the targets of her, ahem, comedy.

Silverman’s latest Tweet takes aim at the Tea Party.

Why isn’t her Tweet funny? Comedy works best when laced with the truth, and there’s not a lick of it buried in her gag. The media desperately tried to paint the Tea Party as racist and violent, but the facts on the ground simply wouldn’t align with that false image.

Now, if you’d like to find a violent movement teaming with hate, you need only consider Occupy Wall Street. But Silverman’s ideology wouldn’t allow an OWS-themed Tweet, so instead we’re stuck with her limp Tea Party gag.
