“Glee” isn’t the ratings juggernaut it once was, and its 3D movie spin-off was dubbed a flop. But the Karoake comedy series still draws enough eyeballs for the suits at Fox.
The series got the green light for a fourth season today, along with two other Fox comedies, according to The Hollywood Reporter:
Glee has averaged 8.9 million total viewers and a 3.8 rating in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic so far this season, according to Nielsen …
For its part, the Zooey Deschanel starrer New Girl is averaging 8.3 million weekly viewers and a 4.2 demo rating this season. Since starting particularly strong, the freshman effort has dipped more recently without the benefit of Glee as a lead-in. Raising Hope, starring Martha Plimpton, Cloris Leachman and Lucas Neff, is regularly luring 5.6 million viewers per week this season and a 2.6 rating in the key demo.
