SANDLER’S HAPPY MADISON TO REVISIT ‘SUMMER SCHOOL’?
The original 1987 “Summer School,” starring Mark Harmon and directed by Carl Reiner, is a real underrated gem. I first saw it on an airplane when both I and the world were still young.
NEW TRAILER: TOM CRUISE IN ‘ROCK OF AGES‘
I have always thought Tom Cruise got a raw deal over the couch-jumping episode. Good heavens, look at all the ugly, nasty stuff stars do, but Cruise becomes a pariah because he lost control over the new love in his life. Oh no, Tom Cruise is weird! Susan Sarandon enjoys being vomited on, but Cruise’s intensity towards Matt Lauer freaks us out.
“Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” likely ended his box office slide. The man is a bona fide movie star who has an amazing track record of picking great projects.
May he live forever.
CHEVY CHASE’S PROFANITY-LACED ‘COMMUNITY’ VOICE MAIL
Proof that Chase’s epic rant in “Christmas Vacation” that ended with “…holy shit, where’s the Tylenol?” was an ad-lib.
ROLAND EMMERICH WANTS TO MAKE ‘DIE HARD IN THE WHITE HOUSE’
Yeah, uhm.
‘THE KILLING’ PREMIERE RATINGS FALL FROM FIRST SEASON
Not a great series but most certainly an unfairly maligned one. You can catch it on Netflix Streaming and it’s well worth your time. In this era of “Breaking Bad” and “Mad Men” methinks we’re a little spoiled.
‘THAT ’70S SHOW’ ARREST: LISA ROBIN KELLY CHARGED WITH INJURING SPOUSE
Suddenly Nick Nolte loses the “Most Hideous Hollywood Mugshot” trophy.

One of the symptoms of being a preachy blowhard is that whenever a big tragedy or controversy happens, you feel like you need to somehow inject yourself into the situation, or explain how the exact same thing once happened to you. See? Everyone’s really talking about me! In a post on his website entitled “Trayvon Martin, Felipe Santos, Terrance Williams – What’s Going On in Florida!!!,” Tyler Perry related an incident in which he was victimized, exactly like Trayvon Martin!
