The new drama “October Baby” lacks the sizzle of “The Hunger Games” and the R-rated antics of “21 Jump Street.” Yet “Baby,” a staunchly pro-life film, cracked the top 10 in its first full weekend of release.
The movie scored roughly $1.7 million on only 390 screens for a ninth-place finish, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. It hauled in $4,405 per screen, the third highest screen average of the weekend.
“October Baby” earned mostly withering reviews over at RottenTomatoes.com, but audiences were eager to see a rare pro-life film at a theater near them.
