Romney to Visit Leno's 'Tonight Show' Next Week

Need more proof Mitt Romney is confident he’ll represent the GOP in the 2012 presidential elections?

The former Massachusetts governor will appear on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” March 27. This will be the fourth time Romney has shared the stage – and couch – with Leno. But given Romney’s impressive delegate count so far, it’s clear he sees the appearance as part of his overall campaign strategy to unseat President Obama come November.

The late night talk show circuit has become a small but important part of a political candidate’s media blitz. Gov. Bill Clinton impressed the audience at “The Arsenio Hall Show” back in 1992 by playing the sax on Hall’s program.

In recent years, it’s become common for presidential contenders to pay Leno, David Letterman and other talk show hosts a visit.

Leno is generally viewed as the most unbiased of the late night talkers, which means Romney likely won’t be grilled during the couch time chat.
