We’ve learned that deals are done for the big-ticket New Regency/Paramount co-production “Noah”, which Deadline has been scooping first for nearly a year now. A formal announcement should come next week. The once hoped-for spring start is now July, sources say. Russell Crowe is set to float the boat as “Noah” in Darren Aronofsky’s edgy Biblical filmic re-telling of Noah’s Ark.
“Since I was a kid, I have been moved and inspired by the story of Noah and his family’s journey,” Aronofsky said during “Noah’s” development process. “The imaginations of countless generations have sparked to this epic story of faith. It’s my hope that I can present a window into Noah’s passion and perseverance for the silver screen.”
