Tom Hanks simply cannot wait for racism in America to run its course.

Hanks famously called World War II a “war that was of racism and terror” back in 2010 while promoting his HBO miniseries “The Pacific,” comments that inspired a maelstrom of negative feedback.

Rather than back away from his statement, Hanks doubled down:

In an exclusive interview with CNSNews.com, Hanks further explained–but stood by his statement–that the Pacific theater of World War II was a war of “racism and terror,” saying that he thinks America has made progress since then away from what he called “ignorance” and “racism.” (See video above and transcript below.)
 

It may take a while, indeed, before we see an end to celebrities palling around with white men in black face in racist comedy skits.
