HUGE NEWS: ‘THE ARTIST’ WILL MAKE PAY CABLE DEBUT ON NETFLIX STREAMING
Now can I say “I told you so?” Actually, things are happening faster than even I expected.
The studios have to go to where the customers are going. “The Artist” is probably going to win Best Picture Sunday **pause to get over that moment of dread that comes with knowing you have to watch the Oscars** and it will be an exclusive on Netflix Streaming.
STREAMING!
A month ago, some in Hollywood were calling streaming The Devil. Now you have a major player doing this kind of business with The Devil.
But wait, there’s more…
COMCAST LAUNCHING NETFLIX-LIKE STREAMING SERVICE
Why is Comcast doing this? The article makes no secret of the fact that the cable outlet is worried about losing subscribers to Netflix. And so for $4.99 a month current subscribers will have access to “TV reruns and older movies.”
This toothpaste is out of the tube.
But you have to already be a Comcast subscriber to enjoy this, so it’s really not the same.
LET ME SAY IT AGAIN: Bundled programming is an evil, a welfare program for leftist losers like OWN and MSNBC that would never survive in the free market. For your country, stop subsidizing this evil and cancel your cable.
Streaming = Liberty.
WILL SACHA BARON COHEN’S ‘THE DICTATOR’ CHARACTER WALK THE OSCAR RED CARPET?
According to DHD, the Academy is freaked out over the fact that Cohen might show up in character as the Arab dictator he plays in “The Dictator.” They’re worried “that it makes a mockery of what Hollywood considers its most prestigious event.”
Bull to the shit.
They’re worried about CAIR.
And if Cohen is finally going to fight the New Blacklist and mock Arabs and Islam with the same effort and energy he put into mocking everyday Americans with “Borat,” he will earn my respect.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NON-CAUCASIAN MEMBER OF THE ACADEMY AND BIGFOOT?
More people have seen Bigfoot.
OSCAR PREDICTOR SAYS STREEP, CLOONEY LOSE
Can’t believe how little I care about the Oscars. Used to be a highlight of the year. Loved seeing the stars, the clips… Now I just sit there and wait to be insulted.
If it wasn’t for work (and this isn’t a complaint), I wouldn’t watch them at all. They mean nothing to our culture anymore, which I guess is a good thing.
I do root against certain people to win. So there’s that. Spite can be fun.

CLASSIC PICK FOR THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23
3:00 AM Objective, Burma! (1945) — An American platoon parachutes into Burma to take out a strategic Japanese outpost. Dir: Raoul Walsh Cast: Errol Flynn, James Brown, William Prince. BW-142 mins, TV-PG, CC.
One of the great, underrated WWII films. Wasn’t Errol Flynn amazing? He was the only actor who looked completely at home in tights, a tux, a cowboy hat, or a military uniform. Some actors could handle two of those. Some could even do three. But only Flynn could do all four.
Pure movie star.
