Tonight’s Grammy Awards telecast should have been a chance to toast music’s biggest stars, welcome new sensation Adele back following her recent vocal surgery and crown tomorrow’s Best New Artist.
Instead, the awards will likely be overshadowed by the tragic death of Whitney Houston.
The show must go on, and Jennifer Hudson will lead a hastily arranged tribute to Houston during the show. Otherwise, expect more atypical Grammy pairings, some disjointed acceptance speeches and more than a few chills as artist after artist pay homage to Houston.
