Marlon's Mao Part Four: Mao's Apprentices — Pierre Trudeau and Barack Obama

Marlon Brando once visited the Prime Minister of Canada, Pierre Trudeau, to request money for a film about the First Nations that he and Abby Mann were working on.

Following the very unfruitful meeting with Trudeau, Brando declared,”That’s the most frightened I’ve ever been in my life. He’s the most intimidating person I’ve ever met.”

PierreTrudeau

Hmmm … well, that remark, which I first read quite awhile ago in a much longer article about that meeting, has stayed with me, particularly since I now live in Canada, and have done so since Jean Chretien replaced Trudeau as Prime Minister.

Chretien, in fact all of Canada, seems to still sit in the shadow of Pierre Trudeau. In light of what Trudeau has done to Canada and what Obama is now doing to the United States, the size of their still-growing legends is not surprising since they’re doing exactly the same thing: instituting or rather forcibly injecting socialism into a Federalist Nation in the guise of Democracy.

“Make them an offer they can’t refuse!”

That was Marlon Brando as Don Corleone advising his lawyer when dealing with any adversary.

In this enlightening article by William Gairdner Trudeau is quoted as bestowing this tribute: “That superb strategist Mao Tse Tung.”

Hmmm, indeed.

The “strategy” apparently was planting socialism willy-nilly in various regional strongholds. That method would prove to be “the very best thing.”

Mr. Gairdner then shows how Obama has been proceeding along the very same guidelines.

Could Obama become our Trudeau and charm his way through several terms as President?

I doubt it.

To support my position, I offer my most recent ESR article:

As a Quebecois, Trudeau was indisputably a Canadian Home Boy, particularly when he declared a national emergency over the kidnapping of British Trade Consul James Cross and the death of Quebec Labor Minister, Pierre Laporte

Any head of state who would declare martial law is going to be remembered for a very, very long time, with or without charm and legendary intellect.

Obama is indisputably a Chicago Home Boy. He is not even from Illinois, let alone a large, French-speaking population of Canada. Therefore his magnetism has shrunk to not just a provincial but a dwindling urban level.

In addition, the conservative voices in the African-American community far surpass any conservative leadership in Canada’s French-speaking constituencies.

What has been proven indisputably is Obama’s shameless ability to offer legislators perks and monies that they apparently just “can’t refuse.”

Obama and Trudeau clearly share the same admiration for tough guys and the actions of Godfathers whom they admire, such as the fictional Don Corleone and the all-too-real Mao Tse Tung.

That Brando met with Trudeau to discover how frightening such simple cold-bloodedness can be is, well, an indication of how romantic was Brando’s vision of Don Corleone and how true to the mark the universe of Al Pacino’s Michael Corleone has proven to be.

A universe without any real law and order except that which is handed down whimsically out of a Godfather’s most recent infatuation, whether it be his lust for more money or a new and amusingly novel and necessarily felonious pastime.

There is, however, nothing new about the Obama/Trudeau game plans of socializing hitherto Republics.

As Mr. Gairdner points out, “That is exactly what I suspect Obama is going to try in the USA to break down what he sees as excessive ‘states rights’ in America, in order to universalize his social programs, suppress states rights further where he can, and draw all under his new socialist policy umbrella.”

Where Mr. Gairdner, however, paints the same, hopeless picture for a repeatedly naïve America is when he quotes the infamous demagogue, Huey Long, U.S. Senator from Louisiana.

“When socialism comes to America, it will come in the name of democracy.”

When American bullies like Long or Obama swindle any free people, they are certainly not going to come as anything other than a lover of democracy.

Does that mean democracy is wrong?

Democracy is no more flawed than our First Amendment.

A loss of faith in either is tantamount to the suicide of freedom.

The doubters equate Democracy with an inevitably Centralized Government, one devoid of State or Provincial Rights!

The First Amendment’s insurance to our freedom of speech has created as many loopholes for our domestic enemies to crawl through as Democracy ever has.

Many in America would throw those babies, both the First Amendment and Democracy, out with the Progressive bathwater.

When I hear “good intentions” like that, I become very, very suspicious.

Then, I believe, we just have an incipient Huey Long or Barack Obama or Pierre Trudeau or even a burgeoning Mao Tse Tung for that matter.

There is a vote in Red China, but no real choice, therefore no Democracy.

Despite the fact that Vladimir Putin, also with a vote, is trying to re-install a Soviet Union doesn’t mean he will, in the end, succeed.

Re-instituting tyranny in a liberated, former Communist Nation becomes as transparently repugnant to all, in this era of the information highway, as the clown act that Hugo Chavez is wallowing in while instituting his own, thuggishly punk version of Castro’s Cuba.

However, leave it to Progressive Hollywood and the likes of Sean Penn to cozy up with both dictators and wish cancer on any and all who would oppose their dictatorial contempt for America.

Progressive Hollywood, filled with so many wanna-be Marlon Brando’s, hopes that President Obama will replicate in America the socialist success of Pierre Trudeau in Canada.

Marlon Brando, however, was justifiably afraid of a smoothly brilliant bully such as Trudeau.

Progressive Hollywood just adores bullies, romanticizes them on the screen and loves to hang out with dictators for photo ops.

Pierre Trudeau was born with Hollywood charisma. So much of it, he could even intimidate one of the emperors of such screen magic, Marlon Brando.

Big Hollywood is here to record the American silver screen’s shameless contempt for the United States, traditional Americans and Tea Parties in particular.

The Progressive Coalition’s henchmen-like displays are the eventually embarrassing evidence we continue to gather from Progressive Hollywood’s tyrannical abuse of our sacred freedoms.

Those liberties afforded friend and foe alike by our First Amendment and our vibrantly battling, two-party Democracy are both under massive siege by the politically correct elitism of the White House, the increasingly close friends of Hugo Chavez and now the voices of those who are repeatedly expressing their distrust of Democracy.

Any distrust of Democracy by freedom-loving people is the first step of surrender to a demagoguery of some sort.

To say the least, a new brand of closed-house fascism that eagerly awaits the death of democracy?

Whether it be from the Far Left or Far Right?

Marxist purity versus Capitalist purity?

Meanwhile, moguls from both sides of these battle lines have already drawn up an entire blue print for their version of a New World Order they call Progressive.

I call it the Robert Minor, Marxist sucker-punch for Jaded, Wealthy, Wall Street Families that have patronized the human race at the expense of their own sanity.

Robert-Minor-Dee-Lighted-1911[1]

Teddy Kennedy was the most obviously infected carrier of such a quintessentially American disease.

Thank God the Kennedy’s home-state of Massachusetts recovered from the side-effects.

A replay of 1930’s and 40’s Europe and Asia is leaping from our inner movie screens into now, resiliently fashionable 3 dimensions!

This nightmare film is now hurtling toward the increasingly desperate audiences of a once-free, democratic nation.

The 3D, rainbow glasses they’ve been handed are blinders.

Maintaining the two-party system, no matter how tired and corrupt some members of both parties appear to be, is America’s only hope.

A cure-all Third Party?!

The devil himself is the very inventor of such a third party’s good intentions.

Four more years of Obama is one possible gift from a renegade coalition that could split the conservative vote.

Or, should that novel and utterly new third party gain the massive power of the American Presidency?

It would be Obama’s Change and Hope coming from the other extreme.

Either way, it is a sure formula for America’s Second Civil War.

A third party might only insure the election of an Extreme Right or Left.

As I’ve often thought, perhaps America’s 36 years of legalized abortion, like its 86 years of accepted and eventually legalized slavery, is just begging for another Civil War.

Marlon might agree.

Anything but another Obama, American Trudeau or Presidential Huey Long … or, worst of all, a charmingly Progressive President-For-Life Mao Tse Tung.
