Officials have charged Ohio resident Juan Leon-Gomez after police found a pregnant 11-year-old girl hidden in a closet in his home.
The 26-year-old suspect was arrested in Massillon, Ohio, after police found the missing girl.
When police arrived at the Leon-Gomez residence, officers say he turned off the lights and refused to answer the door, but the suspect’s roommate opened the door for police saying he didn’t want to be part of the suspect’s offenses, according to the Canton Repository.
The roommate gave police permission to search the home, a police report says.
Upon searching the home, police discovered the girl, later found to be pregnant, hidden in a closet.
Thus far, Leon-Gomez faces two misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business because he did not immediately answer the door and contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child. He was booked into the Stark County Jail.
The suspect’s immigration status has not been reported.
