A Georgia mother used a sword to slash her boyfriend on Thursday after she caught him molesting her five-year-old daughter, police said.
The mother reportedly walked in on John Lawarren Williams, 25, while he allegedly assaulted the child at her home, WMAZ reported.
The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office said that the unidentified woman used a sword she kept stored in her home to slash Williams and keep him from escaping while she called the police.
Williams escaped before deputies arrived at the house at midnight on Thursday to a report of an unwanted person refusing to leave the property.
The mother and child were taken to a local hospital Thursday evening, WGXA reported.
The suspect surrendered to authorities around 6 a.m. on Friday, received treatment for a minor cut on his hand, and was booked into the county jail.
Williams was booked on charges of aggravated child molestation and cruelty to children and is being held at the Twiggs Law Enforcement Center without bond.
