A Pennsylvania man was arrested in Florida after fleeing the Keystone state ahead of being charged with 856 counts of sexual abuse against a five-year-old boy he had “groomed” for several years.
The U.S. Marshals’ Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force (FCRFTF) arrested Garrick Landon Bloom, 46, after authorities in Pennsylvania alerted them that the suspect may be in or around Tallahassee, Florida, area according to First Coast News.
The Pennsylvania State Police charged Bloom with an avalanche of charges for the abuse of the boy including rape of a child, deviate intercourse with a child, assault, sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and more.
Authorities claim that Bloom had “groomed” the boy for several years ahead of time by persuading and cajoling him to believe that sexual intercourse with an adult was good and normal.
The suspect fled Pennsylvania before he could be arrested on the charges, authorities said.
Bloom was arrested in Florida without incident and was booked into the Leon County jail. He will be held in the facility until extradition can be arranged with Pennsylvania authorities.
