On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks argued that debt and deficit concerns shouldn’t factor into debates about coronavirus aid.
Brooks responded to a question on how much worries about the deficit should be part of the debate over coronavirus aid by stating, “I don’t think it should be. In wartime, even fiscal conservatives believe in spending. They’ve done a good thing. This paycheck protection act for small businesses, it’s impressive how much money they’ve gotten out the door.”
