Saturday, while on MSNBC, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) took a shot at President Donald Trump for his overtures that pushed for the reopening of the American economy.
Waters called Trump’s support of groups that sought the reopening of businesses on the local level and were petitioning the government to allow for it “right-wing segregationists and activists.”
“[T]o tell you the truth, it is absolutely confusing and not helpful to have the President of the United States sending dual messages, talking past the experts. And giving out information that he is not qualified to give out. And, then, supporting right-wing segregationists and activists who are out basically organizing in states around the country with his support — telling them to challenge these cities and these cities and get back to work and open up the businesses and all. It is unfortunate that the President of the United States is not a good leader. And he’s not helping out with this pandemic at all. As a matter of fact, I think he’s harmful and dangerous.”
