In an interview on SiriusXM radio’s “The Dean Obeidallah Show,” Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) slammed President Donald Trump over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Host Dean Obeidallah asked Gallego how Trump can be believed after the president suggested some parts of the United States could be opened back up around Easter.
Gallego said Trump cannot be trusted because he “just talks out of his ass” and hopes things work out like everything has for him in the past.
“I mean, he can’t. He just talks out of his ass,” Gallego replied. “And he just hopes that things land in the right way like everything has happened to him in the past. You know, the biggest problem is what he wants to do is to manage the stock market; he doesn’t want to try to manage the health problem that we have right now, the medical problem we have right now.”
Gallego added that Trump does not share the same type of “profound trust” previous presidents had, which he said is “dangerous.”
“I don’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth,” he continued. “I’d rather hear it from Fauci or some other governmental official. It’s sad that the word of the President of the United States cannot be trusted.”
