On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks reacted to a report that states are planning to cancel their Republican primaries in 2020 by stating that “shutting down the democratic process so you can get 100% is something we associate with North Korea.”

Brooks stated, “This is not a sign of political self-confidence, that Donald Trump is unwilling to have any competition. It’s a sign of fear of some sort of weakness. And shutting down the democratic process so you can get 100% is something we associate with North Korea.”
