Dem Rep. Krishnamoorthi: Red Flag Laws Could Be Part of a Package, Universal Background Checks Have to Be ‘Essential Component’

On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “MTP Daily,” Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) stated that a red flag law could be part of a bill package, but “an essential component would have to be these universal background checks.”

Host Steve Kornacki asked, “Is a red flag law a no-go unless the Senate does something on background checks?”

Krishnamoorthi answered, “I think the red flag law could be a component of a package of bills. But I think that an essential component would have to be these universal background checks. … And this is substantial and it needs to be done now.”
