Tuesday, Rep. Norma Torres (D-CA) ripped President Donald Trump over the proposed public charge rule, a regulation where legal immigrants would be less likely to secure a permanent residency in the United States if they have used any forms of welfare in the past.
Torres said on CNN’s “New Day” that Trump’s racism and policies have led to “so much hate in our communities,” noting violence “every single day” in malls, movie theaters, highways and festivals.
“Where does he stop? It is this racism that he has instilled and these policies that he has implemented that is driving so much hate in our communities,” Torres emphasized. “And we are seeing it every single day in malls, in movie theaters, in the highway, here in California and in festivals. It is unfortunate this president was elected president of the United States.”
