Michael Steele: Harris Backtracking on Health Insurance Plan Stance

Friday, former Republican National Committee chairman and MSNBC commentator Michael Steele reacted to Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) raising her hand during the debate the night before when the presidential candidates were asked which ones would support abolishing private insurance for Medicare for All.

Steele said Harris’ response is a “backtrack” from what she has previously told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“We’ve seen with Kamala Harris initially saying that she would repeal that part in the private sector to keep our healthcare and then come back and backtrack, then get the yes and no. And now we’re having the debate, ‘Let me clarify, this is what I mean.’ No. You state very clearly in your plan what you want and it helps us avoid these, sort of, moments, where you’re kind of sheepishly putting up a hand or a finger and making it not very clear where you stand,” Steele stated.
