During Sunday’s “The Cats Roundtable” on New York AM 970 radio, Rep. Peter King (R-NY) ripped House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for saying President Donald Trump needs to be in jail.
King said Pelosi “crossed the line” with her remarks and needs to “show some respect for the office of the president.”
“There is at least another year and a half left of [Trump’s] administration. And for the president to get anything done, and for Nancy Pelosi to get anything done, they have to find a way to cooperate,” King told host John Catsimatidis. “He has names for everybody else. He never had any kind of a nickname for Nancy Pelosi because he really did think he could establish a form of working relationship with her, where they would agree to disagree and get certain things done. But now she has really crossed the line.”
He continued, “[Pelosi’s] under tremendous pressure from the Democrats to go for impeachment. She doesn’t want to do that because she knows it will be bad politically for the Democrats. So, to get around that, she figured she would one-up everybody and say the president should be in jail. Which was, again, a terrible thing to say. You have to show some respect for the office of the president. And it was just terrible, what she said. I understand the president’s anger. I wish for his sake he had not responded.”
