Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) on Sunday suggested that once President Donald Trump is removed from office, he will “subject to criminal prosecution.”
MSNBC’s “Kasie DC” host Kasie Hunt asked Van Hollen if he agreed with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) assertion that Trump should be in prison rather than impeached, which Van Hollen said is something that needs to be decided by a jury.
“I believe the main event, in terms of removing President Trump from the White House is the election,” he told Hunt. “And, of course, if he’s removed after that, he is subject to criminal prosecution for any wrongdoing he’s engaged in.”
Van Hollen then noted Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen is in prison “because of criminal wrongdoing,” which he claimed the president “clearly was engaged in.”
