Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) on Monday discussed the fallout from former FBI special counsel Robert Mueller concluding his investigation and ending his role as special counsel.
Although Democrats want to find out more from Mueller, Biggs said on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom” that House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) will not subpoena him because House Democrats do not want to hold him in contempt.
“I don’t think Mueller is going to appear. He doesn’t want to come back. You know, the Republicans are going to ask some real pointed questions. The Democrats want to mine him for criminal activity,” Biggs stated. “But what I find interesting is Nadler’s not going to subpoena him because then he’d get stuck having to hold him in contempt just like he held William Barr in contempt. So, Mr. Nadler’s kind of between a rock and a hard place, he’s walked himself into a cul-de-sac right now. But boy, he doesn’t really want Mueller even though he says he wants Mueller.”
