MSNBC’s Wallace: Trump’s Ongoing Obstruction Reeks of ‘Guilt’

Monday on MSNBC’s “Deadline,” host Nicolle Wallace discussed President Donald Trump alleged stonewalling congressional investigations by ignoring subpoenas.

Wallace played a clip from ABC’s “This Week,” in which House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said, “Here the Trump administration has decided to say a blanket no, no to any kind of oversight whatsoever, no witnesses, no documents, no nothing.”

He continued, “They’re stonewalling, they want to draw this out as long as possible. We’re going to fight it. We are fighting it. We have to.”

He added, “It’s true these additional acts of obstruction, a president having obstructed the Justice Department, now obstructing Congress, does add weight to impeachment.”

Wallace said, “Obstruction as a behavior does reek of hiding something. It does reek of guilt. And it does seem to push against Trump’s brand of going to Washington and draining the swamp if you will, I’m not sure there’s anyone left who believes that anyway. But this does. Schiff seems to have landed on a message that could stick.”
