In a Monday appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) commented on President Donald Trump fighting efforts by House Democrats to investigate matters like tax returns and security clearance.

Durbin said Trump will face the court system and the “court of public opinion” if he continues to fight investigations.

“We have two courts: The actual court system – and they’ll be used for the challenges to these efforts by the White House to stonewall – and then the court of public opinion. At what point does the public sentiment say this president needs to be held responsible? And if he’s going to be held responsible, those who are complicit in protecting him from disclosure are going to have to pay a price,” Durbin advised.
